What institutes Sedona Horse Property?
Sedona requires that properties have 1.6 acres to own horses. The rule extends saying that if you want multiple horses there must be 0.5 acre per horse – If you have the minimum 1.6 areas you may have up to 3 horses with no additional land needed.
What Sedona Areas are Horse Friendly?
Although you can buy property throughout Sedona that can host horses, we find there are three “areas” that stand out to us as ideal Sedona Horse Property.
- Verde Valley School Road – If you travel down Verde Valley School Road there are properties closer to the creek that have larger lot sizes that back to forest service and/or are close to numerous horse trails in the Sedona. If you have your horse and want to explore the untouched Sedona Old West, living near the end of Verde Valley School Road is a great choice.
- Down Dry Creek Road – Travel down Dry Creek Road, past the Library, and soon as you round the corners of this scenic drive there will be horse properties galore on either side of the road. We like this area because even though you are still close to Sedona amenities you feel as though you are a world away.
- Red Rock Crossing – The Red Rock Loop also has properties that are near horse trails. These properties are close to Red Rock State Park and sometimes have views of the famous Cathedral Red Rock, 2nd most photographed Arizona landmark next to the Grand Canyon. Sedona Horse Properties near Red Rock Crossing, whether on the Verde Valley School Road side or the Red Rock Loop Road side and fabulous places to live and take care of your horse(s).
